BALTIC M48 FAR NIENTE

This was the first motor yacht built by Baltic. Far Niente is a good looking 48-footer with traditional exterior styling and a raised cherry wood paneled interior, creating a classic look and very comfortable accommodation.

Her outward appearance disguises a very modern high-tech, high performance motor yacht starting with a very deep-vee hull shape built using epoxy, carbon and Kevlar vacuum-bagged laminates.

The hull and deck were light and strong enabling us to fully capitalise on Raymond Hunt’s high speed, seagoing hull shape.

We completed “Far Niente” in 1997, and building this motor yacht taught us many lessons about sound insulation that have subsequently benefitted many sailing yacht projects.
