BALTIC 60 MATTONE

Mattone was the first of two 60ft sisterships (the other being Ultimate Third) designed by Bruce Farr. The key aim of this project was to develop a high quality cruiser/racer with a level of performance that you wouldn´t normally associate with this type of sailing yacht.

This led to extra effort being put into weight reduction wherever possible, without compromising the comfort and equipment inventory one would expect on a cruising yacht of this calibre.

One example of this drive for reduced weight focused on the fixed keel fin which was manufactured using an efficient welding and casting process, enabling greater weight to be concentrated low down in the lead bulb.

Despite this yacht’s racing potential she had a luxurious interior with the owner’s suite situated almost amidships leading directly into a large, comfortable saloon. Mattone can sleep eight in four cabins.
