BALTIC 50 BULLY
This was the first custom yacht built by Baltic Yachts designed to the IMS rule. The naval architect was judel/vrolijk, while deck and interior design were by Baltic’s in-house designers and j/v.
When this yacht was commissioned, the IMS Rule was new and the intention was to create so-called multi-purpose yachts capable of competitive racing as well as comfortable cruising.
The owner is an experienced New York racing yachtsman. He competed with Bully successfully in US East Coast waters, mostly in the NY area, but also took part in Key West events.
While IMS had some success it was never really able to encourage the genuine compromise yacht the rule makers had intended
