BALTIC 45 SCHORCH
This project was developed for a German client in cooperation with naval architect Doug Peterson and Rolf Vrolijk who worked on the deck and interior layout.
She was an early example of a custom yacht mixing racing potential with cruising capability and was designed at a time when the IOR was still the main influence in race boat design. Her relatively narrow ends bear testament to this.
The boat was delivered in early spring and due to the ice situation at the yard in Jakobstad the boat was launched in Turku in the south of the country. Her owner sailed her on her maiden voyage from Turku to Kiel in Germany. Schorch’s first owner raced and cruised her in German and Dutch waters.
