BALTIC 38 STAJON

At 38ft Stajon is the smallest custom yacht we have ever built. She was commissioned by a keen racing yachtsman from New York and it was the first time we had worked with the then in vogue naval architects Nelson/Marek.

The hull and deck were built over male moulds and the laminate represented what, in those days, was cutting-edge technology. A special Vinylester resin was used and the reinforcements consisted of unidirectional fibres in S-glass, aramid and carbon.

The American manufactured fibres were so advanced in terms of their technology that US Government permission was required for use outside America!

The build materials and the fact that she was designed with a simple interior made Stajon a particularly light and fast yacht. She was actively campaigned by the first owner mainly on the US North East Coast.
