More than 45 years of boat building to the highest standards mean Baltic Yachts recognises the need for top quality, reliable service and refit to keep yachts operating faultlessly and to their full potential.

Baltic Yachts, the world’s leading carbon yacht builder, takes an in-house approach to yacht building with all disciplines controlled under one-roof, from design and engineering to woodworking and the latest composite manufacturing techniques. Our growing Service & Refit Department benefits from this policy by having a team permanently based in Palma de Mallorca with backup and support from the yard in Finland.

This makes it possible for our service and refit centre to provide a quality of workmanship second to none. Our highly skilled and experienced teams can also travel quickly to clients anywhere in the world for urgent repair work, upgrades and on-going service.

Captains and owners have a choice of using our full Service & Refit capability in Palma or our state of the art, waterside building and refit headquarters in Pietarsaari, Finland.

“I have rarely seen such a programme of complex work completed to such a high standard in such a short timeframe” – Nigel Ingram, MCM project manager, commenting on a 10-week refit programme on the Baltic 112 Nilaya

“After twenty years of successful racing and blue water passage making we identified Baltic Yachts as the perfect facility to undertake a major structural and cosmetic refit based on the yards reputation as a leader in composite yacht construction and design. The brief was complex in the weight constraints and amount to be achieved in good time to see Nariida sailing again by the following season. From inception through until completion the project was well planned, managed and executed with delivery on time. The result has surpassed expectations giving the owner a structurally improved, faster yacht embedded with the most current systems and technology available on the market. The yacht sails better, looks fantastic and feels ready to take on the next twenty years. Thank you Baltic Yachts ” – Sam Evans, S/Y Nariida

A significant project was the completion of an entirely new lightweight interior for the high speed Magnum Marine 70 Pegasus.

The high performance ‘muscle’ boat, built by the iconic Magnum Marine in Florida in 2008, was delivered to the Baltic Yachts’ Palma base where her entire interior was removed. Back in Bosund, Finland, another team of specialist craftsmen built a full-size mock up of the hull using a 3D scan of the original yacht.

This enabled interior specialists Design Unlimited to create a completely new interior based mainly on a carbon structure using dramatic, contemporary styling finished in white.

The new interior structure, completed in Finland, was fitted to the full size mock-up in Bosund to ensure a perfect fit before the first units were shipped to Palma. The project was completed in April 2018.

The refit brief for the 81ft Sunny Day was not only to modernise her, but to blend features of her original 1989 build with contemporary design. Sunny Day has been in the same family ownership since her launch by the Italian yard Spertino Alalunga srl in 1989, so when it came to a major refit it was important her owners could still recognise the style and ambience they have enjoyed for almost 30 years. The result is spectacular.

Baltic 175 Pink Gin returned to Finland for some scheduled maintenance in April 2020. Every bit as breathtaking as the day she was launched, the boat arrived looking immaculate after an uneventful transatlantic, having participated in the Superyacht Challenge Antigua in March. The video shows her approach and arrival in Pietarsaari, where we welcomed the crew with a traditional Finnish sauna and refreshments.

The 31-year-old Baltic 38DP Favorita has completed an extensive six-month refit at our Bosund facility. Looking as good as new, the Doug Peterson-designed Baltic 38, of which 55 were built in the 1980s, is a great example of how a well built and carefully maintained yacht represents one of the most sustainable leisure items on the market today. With a new teak deck, re-painted boot-top and rig, professionally polished topsides and deck, re-varnished accommodation and new hoses for plumbing systems, Favorita has been returned to her owner Erkki Laasonen, who has owned the yacht for 25 years. He has maintained her in tip top condition in her home port of Uusikaupunki in the south west of Finland.

Dockside facility in Pietarsaari

Busy times at our dockside facility in Pietarsaari as both Baltic 175 Pink Gin and Baltic 112 Liara returned for maintenance works after cruising and racing in the Caribbean.

Pink Gin returned for some interim refit work ahead of her five-year survey in two years' time having sailed almost 69,000 nautical miles including six Atlantic crossings since her launch in 2017. Liara has sailed 10,000-miles since her launch in 2019 and as the plans to head across the Pacific this winter got cancelled, the unexpected opportunity to return to the yard for maintenance was taken.
