New Baltic 85 Custom takes to the water
13 August 2018
Here’s our latest new build, the Baltic 85 Custom, launching in Jakobstad recently. She’s now being prepared for sea trials in readiness for delivery to her owner.
Commissioned by an experienced yachtsman, the Baltic 85 Custom is designed as a comfortable, easy to handle cruising yacht with an abundance of space below.
The silver-hulled sloop, with naval architecture by Dixon Yacht Design, sports an E-Glass and carbon hull with construction and finish throughout displaying Baltic Yachts’ hallmarks of detailed engineering, light weight and top quality finish. Baltic Yachts has worked closely with Nigel Ingram of MCM in project managing the build.
The yacht’s accommodation with clean, modern styling by Mark Whiteley Design, includes a light and airy saloon, a large owner’s suite forward and a twin guest cabin. Detailed planning has resulted in an unusually large amount of space for the owners and their guests.
On deck, the guest cockpit can be protected by a push-button foldaway bimini while primary and secondary winches are positioned close to the twin steering wheels. The mainsail is trimmed using a single point mainsheet and a captive winch.
A 180hp Volvo main engine gives yacht has a useful range of 1000 nautical miles and a bank of 30 Lithium ion 24-volt service batteries enables the yacht to remain in quiet ship mode for long periods.
