Baltic Yachts trio bid for Maxi Yacht honours
31 August 2017
Three Baltic Yachts’ built carbon composite yachts are preparing to take to the racecourse in a bid for top honours in the world’s leading regatta for maxi yachts
Baltic 112 Nilaya, Baltic 72 Jethou (formerly Stig) and Baltic 108 WinWin will be competing in the 28th edition of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup from 3-9 September at the prestigious Costa Smeralda Yacht Club in Sardinia.
Nilaya, designed by Rechel Pugh, already has a string of regatta successes to her name and WinWin, from the board of Javier Jaudenes, is attempting to become one of the most successful superyachts of recent times following a second successive class win in the Superyacht Cup Palma and a class win at the St Barths Bucket earlier this year.
Baltic 72 Stig is aiming for a new lease of life as Jethou having been bought by regular maxi yacht campaigner Sir Peter Ogden. Designed by judel/vrolijk & co and launched in 2012 the yacht should realise her full potential in this regatta.
Fifty of the world’s top maxi yachts will be competing in the event which includes the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup and the Rolex Maxi 72 World Championship
